Practise your answers out loud
Say each answer with less and less on screen until it is Ready, one answer at a time, a topic or a whole interview.

Practise one answer
Open an answer in Interview prep and choose Practise. In the list, a written answer that isn't Ready yet shows Practise on its row, which opens it straight away. The choice at the top sets how much of your answer you see while you say it: start with Full script, then move to Cue words, then Nothing. WhizCV remembers your choice for each answer.
- At the top, start with Full script, then move to Cue words, then Nothing.
- Keep inside the answer's time on the clock.
- Choose Say it and answer out loud, then Stop when you finish.
- Show my answer shows it without saying it first. Got it then counts as practice, not Ready.
- Turn on Listen for pace and cue words to check which cue words you said. Listening happens on your device.
- The settings button holds Listen for pace and cue words, Hear it back and Score me.
- Choose Say it and answer out loud. The clock shows how long you take against the answer's time.
- Choose Stop when you finish. Your whole answer shows, with your time.
- Answer Did you have it? with Got it or Not yet.
Got it makes the answer Ready when you said it with nothing on screen for at least half its time. With the script or cue words on screen, or after Show my answer before saying it, Got it counts as practice, and the card says so. An answer that is Ready already stays Ready. Not yet brings the answer back once, later in the same round. A Ready answer stays Ready until you change it or leave it unpractised for two weeks.
On a computer, Space starts and stops, S shows your answer, 1 is Not yet and 2 is Got it.
Notes come as flashcards
A notes answer comes as a flashcard. Say what you remember out loud, choose Show to see your notes, then choose Got it or Not yet. Got it makes a notes answer Ready. When you practise a topic, an answer you haven't written yet shows Write it instead, so you can write it first or skip it.
Practise more than one answer
To practise everything you have written that isn't Ready yet, choose Practise with the number at the top of Interview prep. To practise a topic, open it and choose Practise with the topic's name.
To practise for an interview, open its prep page from your job search and choose the Practise button at the top, named after the company. The questions come in the order you picked them, with "Tell me about yourself" first and each linked follow-up straight after its question.
The same screen runs every round, with a mark for each answer at the top. At the end you see what you got and what is worth another go.
Listening happens on your device
The settings button at the top right holds Listen for pace and cue words, Hear it back and Score me. You can also turn listening on from the card.
Listen for pace and cue words uses your browser's own speech recognition, on your device. The first time, choose Turn on speech to download it for your language. After you stop, the cue words you said are highlighted and WhizCV tells you which ones you skipped. Browsers that can't recognise speech on the device, such as some versions of Safari and Firefox, still run the clock, and everything else works.
Hear it back plays your last run. Speech and the recording stay on this device, and the recording is gone when you leave the page.
Get feedback with Score me
Turn on Score me to get feedback on each spoken answer: a check on each part of it and a question they might follow up with. Turning it on turns on Listen for pace and cue words too, since it scores what was heard. With Score me on, the text of that answer is sent for feedback and is not stored. It uses your monthly AI allowance. Practising without it does not.
