Understand palettes
A palette assigns colors to named slots. Elements using the same slot can change together. A section background override and a global palette change therefore have different effects.
Create or adjust colors
- Open the design controls for Colors or Palettes. Review Template Colors and Custom Colors.
- Use Add Custom Color to name and choose a color, or Add Custom Palette to create a palette and map its slots.
- When editing a template-owned color is unavailable, duplicate it before making changes.
Check the whole document
Review headings, text, icons, dividers and backgrounds after switching palettes. Keep text readable. If only one section should change, use its appearance controls instead of changing a shared slot.
