How to structure your Estate Agent CV
- Profile: sales, lettings or both; the area you know; and your level (negotiator, valuer, manager).
- Experience: agencies newest first, with viewings, sales agreed, instructions won and how you held sales together.
- Qualifications and membership: any Propertymark qualification and your NAEA Propertymark grade.
- Skills: the words from the ad: viewings, valuations, sales progression, portals and CRM.
- Driving licence: most negotiator jobs need one for viewings, so say in your profile or qualifications whether you hold a full UK licence.
No paid experience yet?
Many negotiators come from retail, hospitality or call centres. Agencies hire for confidence on the phone, organisation and local knowledge.
- Lead with sales targets and customer results from any job.
- Show you know the area: where you live, the schools and the transport links.
- Put a full driving licence near the top if you hold one.
- Starting a Propertymark qualification shows you are serious about the career.

American terms
Calling the homes you win 'listings', or saying 'realtor' and 'closings', reads as American. Use instructions, estate agent and completions.
No numbers
Viewings, sales agreed, instructions won and completions are easy to count. Leave them out and a manager assumes they were low.
Forgetting sales progression
Agreeing a sale is half the job. Show how you keep sales together through to completion.
Estate Agent CV professional summary example
Open with two or three lines covering what you do, how long you have done it, and one measurable result.

How to write a standout Estate Agent CV
Three things hiring managers and applicant tracking systems look for — get these right and you clear the first screen.
Lead with volume and results
Agencies scan for figures: sales agreed, completions, instructions won and fee income. Put those numbers in your summary, not buried in a bullet.
Show where your business comes from
Name your sources: past-client referrals, canvassing, valuations booked from portal leads, local contacts. It shows you can find business, not just answer the phone.
Quantify negotiation wins
The share of asking price you achieve and how few sales fall through prove you price well and hold deals together. 'Averaged 97% of asking price' reads better than 'strong negotiator'.
ATS keywords for Estate Agent CVs
Applicant tracking systems scan for role-specific terms before a human reads your CV. Weave the ones that genuinely apply to you into your summary, skills, and bullets.

Frequently asked questions

How do I write an estate agent CV with few sales yet?
Lead with sales or customer results from other jobs, any viewings you have conducted and leads you converted, then show your local knowledge and prospecting habits.
Should I list my accreditations?
Yes. List any Propertymark qualification and your NAEA Propertymark grade, such as ANAEA or MNAEA, in their own section after your experience. They show you have studied the law and practice of estate agency.
